Sally Lunn is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. milk, scalded, 1 tsp. salt, 4 eggs, well beaten, 4 1/2 c. flour and 1/4 c. sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Packed with nutrients and delicious flavors.
Add sugar, salt and butter to milk.
Cook to lukewarm.
Add yeast, eggs and flour.
Beat well and cover.
Let rise in warm place until double (about 2 1/2 hours).
Stir down and pour into well-greased pan or baking dish.
Cover and let rise again until double (about 1 1/2 hours).
Bake at 375° to 400° for about 45 minutes until golden brown.
Serve hot with plenty of butter.
