Cream butter and sugar.

Add well beaten egg yolks, salt and flour alternating with milk that has been heated until lukewarm and mixed with yeast.

Fold in well beaten egg whites.

Pour batter into a well-greased tube pan in which it is to be baked and let stand until double its bulk (2 1/2 to 3 hours).

Bake 25 to 30 minutes in oven set at 375Β°.

When golden brown and tests done, remove from oven and turn onto serving plate.

Cut into wedges and butter while hot or serve with pitcher of melted butter.

Leftover Sally Lund is delicious toasted.
