Sad Cake
Sad Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. bisquick, 1 lb. box lite brown sugar, 4 eggs, 1/2 c. oil and 1 tsp. vanilla, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Mix first 5 ingredients with spoon until moist.
Add chopped nuts.
Pour into a 9 x 13-inch baking pan, greased and floured. Bake for 15 minutes in a 325° oven.
Remove from oven and "whack" pan on counter 2 or 3 times; be careful and don't break your dish. The cake will have risen during the 15 minutes baking time and hitting the pan on the counter will make it fall a bit.
Return to a 300° oven and bake for 25 to 30 minutes more.
Let cool a few minutes and cut into bars.
Don't make bars too big as they are rich and good.
