Rolls
Rolls is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 pkg. yeast, 1/4 c. tepid water, 1 c. boiled water, 1 heaping tsp. salt and 1 egg, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
Dissolve yeast in tepid water.
Beat egg.
Mix shortening, sugar and salt in large bowl.
Pour boiled water into mixture. Stir until sugar dissolves.
Let stand until tepid.
Pour in yeast, egg and mix.
Stir in flour and let rise in warm place for 1 hour. Stir down, cover and put in refrigerator.
The next day, take out and poke down and let rise again.
Poke down 2 or 3 times.
Divide in two hunks and knead.
Makes 1/4-inch rolls.
Dip rolls in melted butter.
Fold and put in pan.
Let rolls rise again, double in size.
Bake at 350Β° until lightly brown.
