Use flat plan like roasting pan or flat casserole dish.

Use medium yellow onions.

If there is soil on onions, wipe off gently. Do not take off skins.

Take 7 or 8 onions root ends off slightly so onions can stand up in pan.

Cut other ends a little.

Stand onions in pan in rows in one layer.
