Rich Chocolate Mousse
Rich Chocolate Mousse is an easy dinner. Made with 8 oz. bittersweet chocolate chips, 4 eggs, 1/2 oz. butter, 3 tbsp. coffee and 2 tbsp. rum (optional), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.
Melt the chocolate chips in double boiler until they are of a smooth consistency.
Add the butter and stir into the hot, melted chocolate.
Stir in three tablespoons coffee and rum if desired. Separate the egg yolks from the whites.
Add the egg yolks to the chocolate mix, one at a time.
Beat the egg whites until the mixture is stiff and forms peaks.
Mix into the chocolate with a wooden spoon.
Pour the chocolate mousse into dessert glasses and leave to set in the refrigerator.
The chocolate mousse can be decorated with whipped cream and/or toasted almond slivers.
