Rich Chocolate Caramel Brownies
Rich Chocolate Caramel Brownies is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 pkg. devil's food or chocolate cake mix, 1 c. chopped nuts, 1/2 c. butter or margarine, melted, 1 c. undiluted carnation evaporated milk, divided and 35 light caramels, unwrapped (10 oz.), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.
In large bowl, combine cake mix and nuts; stir in butter. Stir in 2/3 cup evaporated milk (batter will be thick).
Spread half of batter into greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan.
Bake in preheated 350° oven for 15 minutes.
In small saucepan, combine caramels and remaining 1/3 cup evaporated milk.
Stir over low heat until caramels are melted.
Sprinkle chocolate morsels over baked layer; drizzle caramel mixture over top.
Drop remaining batter by heaping teaspoonfuls over caramel mixture.
Return to 350° oven for 20 to 25 minutes (top will be soft).
Cool completely before cutting into bars.
