Red Velvet Cake
Red Velvet Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 oz. or 1/4 c. red food coloring, 3 tbsp. nestle's quik cocoa, instant, 1 1/2 c. sugar, 2 eggs and 1/2 c. crisco, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Mix coloring and cocoa together; let set.
Beat together the Crisco and sugar.
Add eggs one at a time and continue beating. Add coloring, cocoa and vanilla.
Stir well.
Alternately add cake flour and salt which have been sifted together and the buttermilk. Beat hard.
Stir in the vinegar and soda.
Bake at 350Β° for 35-40 minutes.
