Red Devil's Food Cake
Red Devil'S Food Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. butter flavor crisco, 1 1/2 c. sugar, 2 eggs, 4 tbsp. cocoa and 2 tbsp. hot coffee, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Cream Crisco.
Add sugar, cream until fluffy.
Blend in well beaten eggs.
Mix cocoa, red coloring and coffee together to form a smooth paste. Blend into creamed mixture.
Sift flour, soda and salt together 3 times.
Add alternately with buttermilk to creamed mixture, starting and ending with flour. Add vanilla. Pour into 2 floured and greased 9-inch cake pans.
At 375Β° for 40 minutes.
Frost with chocolate or vanilla icing.
