Red Clam Chowder

Cook bacon in large pot.
Pour off excess grease.
Add clams. Cook and stir 1/2 hour.
Add all vegetables.
Cook 20 minutes. Add tomato paste and juice.
Cook until all vegetables are tender. Add water to make about 4 quarts.
