Red Cabbage
Red Cabbage is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 medium red cabbage, finely shredded, 3 slices bacon, 2 tbsp. vinegar, 2 tbsp. sugar and 1 tart chopped apple, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.

Saute bacon and chopped onion in bacon fat.
Do not drain. Mix all ingredients and cook on very low heat (in heavy bottom pot or kettle) for about 1/2 hour.
Very good with pork chops, ham or fried chicken.
