Stem and rinse berries.

PurΓ©e in a blender or food processor. Combine sugar and cornstarch in a saucepan.

Stir in the 1/2 cup water until mixture is smooth.

Stir in the pureed berries.

Bring to a boil, stirring constantly.

Boil for 1 minute.

Remove from heat; stir in lemon juice.

This makes about 2 cups of sauce and is good over pancakes, waffles and French toast, as well as for ice cream and cake.
