Core apples; pare strip from center or top of each.
Mix brown sugar and raisins.
Place about 2 tablespoons of raisin mixture in center of each apple.
Dot with butter.
Place apples in large saucepan; add water.
Cover tightly.
Bring to boil.
Continue boiling gently 15 minutes or until tender.
Serve warm.
Makes 4 servings.
Omit butter if serving apples chilled.
