Raised Doughnuts

Dissolve yeast in warm water.
Cream together butter, salt, sugar and eggs.
Add the scalded milk to the creamed mixture, then cool this mix by adding several cups of flour.
Add yeast and enough white flour to make a soft dough.
The dough should rise until double.
Roll out to 1/2-inch.
Cut out and let rise again. Deep-fat fry until brown on each side.
Ice while hot.
