Grease and flour bottom of 13 x 9-inch pan.
Combine all ingredients, except chocolate and nuts, in a large mixer bowl; blend well at lowest speed of mixer.
Beat 2 minutes at medium speed.
Pour batter into pan.
Sprinkle with chocolate pieces and nuts.
Bake at 350Β° for 35 to 40 minutes.
