Quick Beans 'n Rice
Quick Beans 'N Rice is an easy dinner. Made with 1 1/4 c. minute rice, 1 1/2 c. water, 1 (15 oz.) can beans (butter beans, kidney beans, etc.), dash of black pepper and dash of crushed red pepper, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.

Wash beans under clear water to remove original liquid.
(This will greatly reduce sodium.)
Add beans to water and black pepper in 2-quart saucepan.
Bring to a brisk boil.
Add rice; stir. Remove from heat.
Let stand, covered, for 5 minutes for liquid to absorb.
Stir and serve.
For extra "zip," sprinkle with crushed red pepper or your favorite spice.
(Black and red pepper are 2 of my favorites.) Makes 2 servings.
