Prune Cake
Prune Cake is an impressive dinner. Made with 1 1/2 c. sugar, 3/4 c. shortening, 1 c. sour or buttermilk, 1 tsp. soda and 2 eggs, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Cream shortening and sugar together; add eggs and beat well. Sift flour once, then measure and add soda, baking powder, salt and spices and sift again.
Add dry ingredients and milk at same time; beat well.
Last, add nuts and prunes.
