Pralines
Pralines is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. buttermilk, 1 tsp. soda, 3 c. sugar, 1 c. butter or margarine, melted and 2 tbsp. light corn syrup, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.

Combine buttermilk and soda in a 5-quart saucepan, stirring until soda is dissolved; add sugar, butter, corn syrup and salt. Bring mixture to a boil; cook, stirring constantly, until mixture reaches soft ball stage.
Remove from heat and let stand until lukewarm.
Add vanilla and pecans to candy; beat until mixture begins to thicken and loses its gloss.
Drop by tablespoonfuls onto a lightly buttered baking sheet or waxed paper; let stand until firm.
Store in airtight container.
