Pralines
Pralines is an easy dinner. Made with 1 lb. light brown sugar, 1/8 tsp. salt, 3/4 c. evaporated milk, 1 1/2 c. pecan halves and 1 tbsp. vanilla, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Packed with nutrients and delicious flavors.
Mix together all ingredients, except vanilla, in a 3-quart heavy saucepan.
Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until sugar dissolves.
Cook to soft ball stage (236Β°).
Continue stirring to prevent sticking.
Remove from heat.
Cool 5 minutes. Add vanilla; beat with wooden spoon until candy begins to thicken. Drop rapidly from tablespoon onto waxed paper.
(If candy becomes too stiff to drop, stir in 1/2 tablespoon hot water.)
Makes 1 1/2 pounds candy.
