Pralines is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 1/2 c. brown sugar, 1 1/2 c. sugar, 3 tbsp. dark corn syrup, 1 c. milk and 1 tsp. vanilla, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.

Butter sides of a heavy saucepan.

In it, combine sugars, corn syrup and milk.

Heat and stir over medium heat until sugars dissolve and mixture comes to a boil. Cook to soft ball (234Β°) stage, stirring occasionally.

Cool 10 minutes.

Add vanilla and beat by hand 2 minutes. Add pecans and beat until mixture loses its gloss. Drop by tablespoons onto waxed paper.

If candy becomes too stiff, add a teaspoon or so of hot water.
