Pound Cake
Pound Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 lb. country butter, 1/2 c. shortening, 3 c. sugar, 7 eggs and 1 tsp. vanilla, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.

Cream butter, shortening, and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add lemon and vanilla extract and blend well.
Add eggs one at a time and continue beating after each addition.
Sift together flour, baking powder and salt; Add alternate to cream mixture with milk.
Pour into large tube pan.
Bake in 325Β° oven for 1 1/2 hours, or until cake tests done.
