Pound Cake
Pound Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 lb. butter or 2 sticks margarine, 1/2 c. shortening, 3 c. sugar, 1 tsp. vanilla and 1 tsp. lemon, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.
Cream butter, shortening and sugar until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and lemon extract and blend well.
Add eggs, one at a time and continue beating after each addition.
Sift together flour, baking powder and salt and add alternating to creamed mixture with milk.
Pour into greased and floured tube pan.
Bake 1 1/2 hours at 325Β° or until cake tests done.
