Potato Water Rolls
Potato Water Rolls is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. hot water from boiled potatoes, 2 tbsp. butter, 1 tbsp. sugar, 1 tbsp. salt and 1/2 c. warm water, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Dissolve yeast in 1/2 cup water.
In a large bowl, combine potato water, butter, sugar and salt.
When this has cooled to warm, add the yeast mixture and 3 cups of flour; beat well. Gradually add remaining 3 1/2 cups of flour.
Finish by kneading on a floured board until smooth.
Place in greased bowl, turning once to coat top.
Cover and let double in size (1 to 1 1/2 hours).
Knead down in bowl.
Divide into 24 pieces.
Shape into balls and place on greased cookie sheets.
Cover and let rise 45 to 60 minutes.
Sift flour over tops before baking.
Slash tops with shears.
Bake at 425Β° for 20 to 25 minutes.
Cool on wire racks.
