Spread popped corn on large (at least 17 x 12 x 2-inch) buttered pan.
Sprinkle peanuts over top.
Slowly melt sugar in heavy frying pan, stirring constantly.
When sugar is golden brown, stir in margarine, vanilla and soda.
Pour in a fine stream over popcorn and peanuts.
Cool; break into bite size pieces.
