Mix sugar, syrup, margarine and butter.
Bring to a boil and boil for 1 minute only.
Remove from stove.
Add vanilla and baking soda.
Pour over popcorn and put into a large baking dish. Bake at 250 degrees for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
