Boil sugar, syrup, and butter together until brittle when tested in cold water.

Add vinegar and remove from heat.

Have popped corn ready with all hard grains removed.

Scatter peanuts over not of popcorn if desired.

Gradually but quickly pour the syrup over the popcorn and stir briskly until corn is well coated. While still warm, form into figures with molds or form into balls. Keep in a dry, room temperature place to keep fresh and crisp.
