Pocketbook Rolls
Pocketbook Rolls is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. boiling water, 1/2 cake yeast, dissolved in 1/2 cup lukewarm water, 3 1/2 c. flour, 1/4 c. sugar and 1 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Add butter, salt and sugar to boiling water.
Cool. Then add dissolved yeast cake.
Add sifted flour and set aside in a warm place to rise.
When double in bulk, add well beaten egg.
Knead lightly.
Roll out 1/2-inch thick on well floured board.
Cut with biscuit cutter, 3-inches around.
Crease with dull knife.
Brush with melted butter and fold over, pinching the dough on sides to make a pocket book. Brush tops with butter.
Let rise and bake on a cookie sheet in 390Β° oven about 20 minutes.
