Pocketbook Rolls
Pocketbook Rolls is an easy dinner. Made with 2 c. sifted flour, 2 tsp. baking powder, 1/2 tsp. salt, 1 tbsp. butter or shortening and 2/3 c. milk, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.
Mix all dry ingredients together.
Mix in shortening.
Add milk, all at one time, then mix until all ingredients form balls. Knead lightly 2 or 3 minutes.
Roll 1/4-inch thick.
Cut with floured 2-inch biscuit cutter.
Fold double and press edges together.
Brush tops with melted butter.
Cover; let rise in warm place for 20 minutes.
Bake in hot oven (425Β°) for 10 minutes. Again, brush with butter and bake another 5 to 10 minutes.
