Pizza Dough
Pizza Dough is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 envelopes active dry yeast, 2 c. lukewarm water (110~), 2 tsp. sugar, 2 tbsp. olive oil and 2 tbsp. vegetable oil, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.
Sprinkle yeast in warm water; let stand until dissolved.
Add sugar, oils and 2 1/2 cups of the flour, beating well.
Gradually add the remaining 2 1/2 cups of flour to form a soft dough.
Turn out onto a floured board and knead until smooth and elastic, adding flour as needed.
May take 1/2 to 1 cup.
Turn dough into greased bowl.
Cover with plastic wrap.
Let rise in warm place until doubled (2 to 3 hours).
Punch down and let rise again. Punch down and divide into 3 balls.
Roll out dough, adding enough flour to make dough fit pizza pan.
Fold under outer edges. Pierce holes in dough with fork.
Do a "first bake" in a 400° to 450° oven for 5 to 7 minutes.
Ready for your favorite pizza recipe.
Makes three 13-inch pizzas.
