Pinto Beans
Pinto Beans is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 8 c. dry pinto beans, washed, 1 smoked ham hock, 1 large onion, chopped, 1/2 c. molasses or honey and 2 tbsp. chile piquin, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.
Sort and wash beans and place them in a large pot and cover them with water.
At this point you can let them soak overnight or cook them overnight.
I prefer the latter.
Add all the other ingredients, cover pot and bring to a boil.
Then reduce heat and simmer on low heat all night or day.
Check the water and stir occasionally.
