Grease and flour large tube pan or two loaf pans; preheat oven to 350Β°.

Cream together in large bowl the sugar, shortening, egg and pinto beans until thoroughly blended.

Sift together flour, soda, salt and spices; add gradually to bean mixture, beating well.

Fold in chopped apples, raisins and black walnuts.

Bake 1 hour and 15 minutes or until done.
