When preparing pie crust, it is important that all ingredients are well chilled, otherwise dough will be very sticky.
In large bowl, combine flour and sugar (if used).
Blend in butter with a knife until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Add cold water and form into a ball.
Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1 hour.
