Picnic Turnovers
Picnic Turnovers is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 1/2 c. cooked ham or other meat, ground, 4 tbsp. mayonnaise, 1 tsp. dry mustard, 1/2 tsp. onion juice and 2 tbsp. dill pickle, finely chopped, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.

Combine meat, mayonnaise, mustard, onion juice and pickle; mix well.
Sift flour with baking powder and salt.
Cut in shortening until consistency of meal.
Add milk until a soft dough is formed. Roll lightly on floured board to 1/4-inch thickness.
Cut into 4-inch squares.
Brush squares with melted butter.
Place triangle of cheese on half of square.
Put 1 tablespoon meat mixture on cheese and fold over other half of dough to form triangle.
Press edges together.
Bake in hot oven (425Β°) for 20 to 25 minutes. Makes 10.
