Pickles
Pickles is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 15 lb. cucumbers, sliced for pickles, 3/4 c. salt, 1 gal. water, alum and 5% vinegar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Packed with nutrients and delicious flavors.

Soak cucumbers in solution of 3/4 cup salt to 1 gallon of water.
Soak for 7 days.
Drain and wash pickles and container.
Cover with alum mixture (3 tablespoons alum to 1 quart water).
Soak 24 hours, then drain and wash.
Cover with vinegar and spices.
Drain and layer 3-inches of pickles and 3 cups sugar.
