Pfeffernuesse is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 1/2 c. shortening, use part butter, 2 c. dark syrup, 2 c. brown sugar, 1 c. white sugar and 3 eggs, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.

Sift dry ingredients together.
Mix all ingredients together. Refrigerate 1 day.
Take 1 tsp. of batter and roll into ball (approximately size of walnut).
Use powdered sugar on hands, if it sticks.
Place on greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 350Β° for 18 minutes.
Bake until no indentation remains when touched.
Roll in powdered sugar.
Will keep for months at room temperature in a glass container.
They stay nice and soft.
