Petits Fours
Petits Fours is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 4 tbsp. butter or oleo, 1/4 c. shortening, 1 c. sugar, 1/2 tsp. vanilla and 1/4 tsp. almond extract, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.

Cream together the butter and shortening.
Add 1 cup sugar and cream until light.
Add the extracts.
Sift together the flour, baking powder and salt.
Add alternately with milk to batter.
Beat egg whites until foamy and add 1/4 cup sugar.
Beat to soft peak. Fold into batter.
Turn into greased and lightly floured 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan.
Bake at 350Β° about 40 minutes or until cake tests done.
Cut into shapes.
