Pepper Steak
Pepper Steak is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 round steak, cut up, flour, salt and pepper, 8 oz. whole tomatoes, drain and reserve liquid and onions, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
Season meat and coat sides with flour.
Brown in oil.
Add liquid from tomatoes plus 1 3/4 cups water to it.
Add cut-up onions and Worcestershire sauce.
Cover and simmer 1 1/2 hours. Cut green peppers into strips and add to meat.
Simmer for 15 minutes.
Add whole tomatoes to gravy and simmer 15 minutes more. No extra seasoning is needed for gravy.
Serve over rice.
