Pepper Steak is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 lb. round steak, cut in small pieces, 1/4 c. salad oil, 1 tbsp. soy sauce, 1 tsp. salt and 1 1/4 c. water, divided, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.

Brown steak in hot oil.
Add soy sauce, salt and 1/4 c. water.
Cover and cook 45 minutes.
Add peppers and onions and cook for 15 minutes.
Combine cornstarch and 1 cup water.
Stir into steak mixture.
Cook until slightly thick.
Serve steak over hot cooked rice.
Yield: 4 servings.
