Pepper Steak
Pepper Steak is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 1/2 lb. sirloin steak, cut into 2-inch strips, 2 tbsp. shortening, 1 envelope lipton onion soup mix, 2 c. water and 1 or 2 green bell peppers, cut into strips, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
In large skillet, heat shortening and brown meat, turning frequently.
Stir in the soup mix and 2 cups water.
Cover and simmer for 30 minutes.
Stir in pepper and simmer for 10 minutes.
Blend cornstarch with 1/2 cup water and add to skillet mixture.
Cook, stirring constantly, until thickened.
