Prepare cake as directed on package.
Pour batter into two greased x 10 x 1-inch pans.
Bake at 350Β° for 25 to 30 minutes.
Meanwhile, butter and sugar together. Mix in pecans.
Cakes are still warm, spread each with pecan topping.
Broiler until topping is bubbly. Cut each cake into bars.
