Cream the shortening, soda and brown sugar.
Add eggs.
Add flour, soda and cream of tartar.
Add vanilla, coconut and peanuts.
Drop onto greased cookie sheets.
Bake at 350Β° for 10 to 11 minutes being sure not to overbake.
