Bring to boil; boil until liquid spins a thread.

Add 2 cups raw Spanish peanuts and boil until it turns a golden brown. Remove from heat and add 2 tablespoons butter or margarine and 1 tablespoon vanilla.

Stir quickly and carefully as liquid will splatter.

Quickly add 2 teaspoons baking soda and spread on buttered cookie sheet.
