In glass 2-quart bowl, combine sugar and corn syrup. Microwave on High for 4 minutes.

Stir in peanuts and microwave on High 4 minutes.

Stir in margarine and vanilla; microwave on High for 1 minute and 30 seconds to 2 minutes.

Stir in baking soda gently until light and foamy.

Pour at once on buttered cookie sheet.

Bake 1/2 to 1 hour; break into pieces.
