In heavy bottomed 2-quart saucepan over high heat, stir sugar, corn syrup and water until sugar is dissolved.

Cook, without stirring, until mixture reaches 300Β° (hard crack stage), about 5 minutes.

Stir in peanuts, margarine, vanilla and baking soda. Quickly spread in thin layer on greased baking sheet; cool.

Break into pieces and store in airtight container for up to 2 weeks.
