Peanut Brittle

Cook sugar, syrup and water to the soft ball stage at 238°. Add peanuts and salt.
Cook to hard crack, 290°.
Remove from heat and add butter and soda.
Stir well.
Pour into greased platter. Cool by lifting around edge.
When cool, but still slightly warm, turn over.
Break into pieces.
