Bring the first 5 ingredients to a boil and add the peanuts. Stir constantly until peanuts are golden brown.
Remove from stove and add the soda.
Stir until foaming almost stops.
Pour on greased sheet pan.
Use heavy pan, use wooden spoon and make on a clear, cool day.
