Combine sugar, syrup, water and peanuts.

Measure into custard cup soda and salt.

Cook together sugar, corn syrup, water and peanuts for 30 to 35 minutes after it begins to boil, until it is amber, a little deeper than straw color.

Add soda and salt, mixed.

Remove from heat.

Beat until blended and pour onto heavy buttered aluminum tray.

Pull edges to thin sheets; cut off pieces with kitchen shears.

Cool and store tightly covered.
