Mix sugar, syrup and water together.
Cook until threads.
Add peanuts and stir continuously.
Cook until syrup mixture turns light brown.
Remove from heat; add soda, salt and butter.
Stir until thoroughly mixed.
Pour onto buttered cookie sheet.
Spread as thin as possible.
