Pastel Delights
Pastel Delights is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. butter or margarine, 3/4 c. sugar, 1 egg, 1/4 tsp. vanilla and 1/4 tsp. almond extract, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.
Cream butter, gradually adding sugar.
Add egg, vanilla or almond extract.
Fold in flour with baking powder and salt. Blend to make stiff dough.
Divide dough in 1/2; leave 1 half plain and divide remaining dough in thirds.
Tint 1/3 green, one pink and one yellow with a few drops of coloring.
Roll out 1/2 the plain dough to a 10 x 6-inch rectangle on a lightly floured board.
Shape 1/2 the pink dough into a 10-inch long rope.
Do the same with 1/2 the green and yellow dough.
Place each color rope on the long side of rectangle.
