Combine first three ingredients in saucepan.
Bring to a boil. Add butter and cook, stirring occasionally until 238Β° (soft ball stage).
Remove from heat.
Add extract and nuts.
Beat until candy begins to thicken.
Turn into buttered 9 x 9-inch pan.
Cut into squares.
Makes 24 squares.
